President of Tikrit University Attends Two Scientific Thesis Defenses at the Colleges of Islamic Sciences and Agriculture

The President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, attended on Sunday morning, 28/12/2025, two scientific thesis defenses at the College of Islamic Sciences and the College of Agriculture, as part of his continued support for scientific and research activities at the university.

At the College of Islamic Sciences, the University President attended the defense of a Higher Diploma thesis in Intellectual Security at the Department of Fundamentals of Religion, entitled:

“The Role of the Ministry of Interior’s Media in Confronting Intellectual Terrorism”

by researcher Shaker Mahmoud Shaker.

The defense was attended by Major General Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Habib, Commander of the Salah al-Din Provincial Police, as a member of the examining committee, along with a number of professors and researchers. The thesis emphasized the importance of security media in enhancing societal awareness and confronting extremist ideas.

In the same context, the University President also attended the defense of a Master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture by the student Abdullah Mohammed Jadoua, entitled:

“The Response of Bougainvillea to Shading, Organic Fertilization, and Spraying with Potassium Silicate and Its Effect on Vegetative Growth Characteristics and Mineral Content.”

Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf praised the scientific level of the presented research, commending the efforts of the researchers, supervisors, and scientific committees in advancing scientific research and serving the community.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for Administrative Affairs Receives the President of Tikrit University and Discusses Ways to Develop the University

Professor Dr. Adnan Ibrahim Abdul-Jameeli, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs, received in his office on Wednesday morning, 24 December, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, President of Tikrit University, at the Ministry’s headquarters, to discuss ways to develop the university and support the course of its academic, scientific, and administrative advancement.

During the meeting, the current situation of Tikrit University and its future plans aimed at elevating the academic and scientific level were reviewed, in addition to discussing mechanisms for supporting developmental and expansion projects, improving infrastructure, and providing administrative requirements that contribute to enhancing the university environment.

The Undersecretary also reviewed the developments the university has witnessed in recent years, particularly the notable progress achieved in international rankings, its expansion in the fields of high-quality scientific research published in global databases, as well as the constructional and technological achievements that have contributed to improving the quality of education and the services provided to students.

The Undersecretary praised the efforts exerted by the university presidency and its academic and administrative staff, commending the effective role of the university administration in achieving development and raising the academic and cognitive level, and affirming the Ministry’s keenness to support Iraqi universities and provide the necessary facilities that contribute to achieving their strategic objectives.

For his part, the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Undersecretary for the continuous support and follow-up, emphasizing the university’s commitment to continuing work on developing its academic programs, enhancing scientific research, and engaging with international rankings in a manner that serves the educational process in Iraq.

President of Tikrit University Receives a Number of Staff Members, Citizens, and Students

The President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, received a number of university staff members, citizens, and students as part of the weekly meeting program he allocates to review their requests and follow up on their affairs.

The University President listened to a range of requests and proposals, directing that they be followed up and addressed in accordance with the approved administrative and legal regulations and instructions.

It is worth noting that the President of Tikrit University has designated every Tuesday as a fixed weekly appointment to meet with citizens, staff members, and university students, reflecting his commitment to direct communication and responsiveness to their needs.

Vice President for Scientific Affairs Receives Two International Students as Part of the “Study in Iraq” Program

Professor Dr. Hassan Hussein Ibrahim, Vice President of Tikrit University for Scientific Affairs, received two international students admitted under the “Study in Iraq” program, as part of enhancing academic cooperation and openness to students from various countries.

The visit included the student Murad Ali Abdul Hamid, of Yemeni nationality, admitted to study at the College of Medicine – General Medicine at Tikrit University, and the student Al-Arqam Hashim Abdul Salam, of Sudanese nationality, admitted to the College of Arts at Tikrit University.

Professor Dr. Hassan Hussein Ibrahim welcomed the two students, wishing them success and excellence in their academic journeys. He emphasized the University Presidency’s commitment to providing a supportive and distinguished educational environment for international students, contributing to the achievement of the objectives of the “Study in Iraq” program and strengthening the scientific and academic standing of Iraqi universities.

He also noted that Tikrit University continues to receive students from various nationalities and provide them with the necessary facilities, reflecting a spirit of openness and cultural and scientific exchange.
